Julie Rogers was born in Goshen,
Utah, with a natural love for art. As a small child she drew constantly,
concentrating her talents on her love and passion for horses. She grew
up on her family's working cattle ranch. Being the oldest of five girls threw
many of the responsibilities and work, normally reserved for brothers, on to
her shoulders.
A typical summer day would see her cutting and baling
hay, and working with the ranch livestock. Julie loves and cherishes
this life style and often depicts it in her work.
Julie has raised horses all of
her life. She currently raises Welch and Quarter horses (and a cross she calls
Quarter Welch) and also raises Australian Shepherds.
She received a degree from Brigham Young University and currently paints
professionally as well as teaches part time for Dixie College.
Her work has been selected for numerous private collections and has received
many awards, including first place at the 2003 Dixie International Art Show.
Her work has been included in many regional and international exhibits: 2003
International Church Show; Purchasers Award National Birds of Prey; First and
Second place; at the ASCA International art show; and first place at the
2004 Dixie International Purchaser Awards.
As a professional artist, Julie loves to paint the simple things of every day
life.
